It's not cedar. It's not wood. It's not a composite material. It's not flimsy, blow-away-in-a-little-breeze plastic. It's 100% high density polyethylene (HDPE), sometimes called polywood. It's made from recycled milk jugs.

The design is identical to our cedar Adirondack chairs, with the same sculpted seat and curved back. We even use the same 1 3/4" stainless steel screws. The color is called Weathered Wood (other colors are available, requiring special order).

This one-inch thick plastic lumber won't fade, crack, rot or splinter. It's impervious to insects. It will never require painting or staining. It can be left outside day and night, summer and winter -- 365 days a year -- anywhere.

This plastic lumber won’t absorb moisture or chemicals. It's also protected by advanced ultra-violet stabilizers, so while no material is entirely resistant to the effects of sunlight, this PVC-free lumber is close.

It really does mean carefree maintenance. Clean up is simple: Turn on the power washer. And at about 50 pounds, a Standard Adirondack Chair won't blow away.
